SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

Our church gathers every Sunday morning. Our 8:30a service features traditional music, while the music in our 10:45a service is contemporary, and a bit louder. However, the purpose of both services—indeed, the purpose of all we are and do—is to glorify God by sharing fellowship, singing praises, praying earnestly, serving others & seeking the depths of truth in the scriptures together.

OUR HISTORY

Trinity Reformed Church began in the early 1950s amid enthusiasm and harmony and has prospered over the decades with these characteristics. The church began as a vision to address both the crowded conditions of the other Reformed churches in Pella and the desire to reach the unchurched.

Trinity was officially organized in October 1953 with 39 families. Within one month the first pastor was called—without a parsonage, without a church building, without any property. There were few people, with limited resources, but with great faith. Less than three years after organizing, the first worship service was held in Trinity’s new sanctuary in April 1956.

The congregation has always had a deep concern for evangelism and for the missionary outreach of the gospel. We accept the rich heritage of the church of the Reformation, when our forebearers “reformed the Church according to the Word of God”. Through the years, a firm foundation built on the Word of God has established us as people who want to live the gospel in our daily lives. Today we are a member church of the Alliance of Reformed Churches and are known within the community as Trinity Church.
